doors & windows in brick veneer wainscot walls

Inserting doors and windows in brick veneer walls could be modeled easier... After looking for this topic the last topic I encountered concerning something similar to this was posted in 2008. I'm hoping there has been some new development in this area since then.

Is there a setting in the 15 door and window which will allow this to be done without the extra space created by the automatic jamb extensions which the objects place...?

In order to work around on this for the time being we have...

1- modeled the complex profile wall
2- inserted an empty wall opening the size of the fenestration
3- modeled a new composite wall within the opening
4- inserted the desired door or window in the modeled composite wall which rides inside the wall opening made in the original complex profile wall.

Is there a variable or setting in the doors and windows which will allow them to work with the wall core skins and eliminate the need to do all of the extra steps outlined above. Thanks in advance to your response regarding this topic.

Cheers-

Reading quickly as i have to run (sorry) ... but there is a 'feature' (which I consider a bug) in the CP walls that causes the opening reference lines to be ignored... The window/door insertion looks at the wall thickness at the window/door anchor point rather than honoring the reference lines exclusively. If you set your door's anchor point to 'head'/top then it should cut through the brick wainscot and have the casing flush with the wall above.

Cheers,
Karl

Excuse a very junior user piping up, but don't forget that you can edit the opening reference in the complex profile editor. Show/hide this via the 'design layers' drop-down menu. I had the same problem, and fixing it this way avoids having to change the settings of all windows/doors in a project.
