doors do not cut thru wall

The wall is 4: thick  the door does not cut through the wall  and it should set within the wall.  I had to thidken hte wall wo wee the door frame  not good if wall still shows

Is there more than one wall there?

i.e. the door is in one wall but a second wall is showing through?
