elements in 3D, sections but not in plans

i am just wondering if there is any way to display specific elements or element types or layers in 3D views and sections , but not in Plans?

lets say beams?

what i do usually is either to create a fake story and put all these things in " but sure with the right hight".

or do it the ideal way ..layer combinations.. but here i have a problem ? not a real problem " but i can't work in the same project map...and have the right plans and sections.

i mean for layers we can have an option to see it in plans but not in 3D , cant we have the other way? " in 3D but not in Plans?"

as i told you using view maps is the ideal way .. i guess , but just wondering?

You can edit the GDL script to create an option to turn the 2D symbol off in plan, but I wouldn't recommend it.
