this is getting me crazy....

i am trying to get the PT to show as a solid white on the dark wall. i have checked to make sure the fill is white solid fill.

the print came out to be the same dark color as the wall in a black and white print.

did i miss anything?

It looks to me like you've selected a 50% fill - make sure you've selected "solid fill" in the second box down. If you still have trouble arrange for the fill to "move forward". It should print OK if it looks OK.

I've found that generally speaking, things print better if you go with solid fill and just use pen colours to create white, black and shades of grey. This seems to work well with HP colour plotters straight from AC & Plotmaker and with PDF files.

thanks....just before i got your notification, i found what happened.

i print the plotmaker file to a pdf and i noticed there is a box-all colors to black- checked . So, i changed all the symbols fill to EMPTY instead and now, there are all showing as solid white over the dark walls.

symbols- i saw your reply on symbols - how do you assign grouped objects to a name? it's easy in vectorworks but i still have not known how to do that in archicad.

thanks,

Hi Isid,

You can't actually assign "grouped" objects a name. If you need to deal with bunches of items, there are 3 basic strategies:

A. Group them as you have done - great for simple assemblies, one-off items and single project items.
B. Save a GDL object from the project "File - GDL Object - Save As". Some GDL ability can make this a very powerful alternative.
C. Create a Module - the original version stays the same and you can modify the insertions of the module. You can name this module.

OTHER POST
From your other post, I had assumed that you've grouped several items - Say GDL Object "A",GDL Object "B", lines, fills, etc.

For example, you could select and edit all GDL Object "A" by "suspending groups" so that you can "find & select" then edit GDL Object "A". Example being that if your "find & select" picked 32 insertions of GDL Object "A" you only have to edit once to have the change apply to all 32 objects.

Cheers, Cameron

You cn't do exactly the same thing; but, you can group, AND you can save a selection set.
