I agree with Mike that there should be a way to turn them off and adjust them globally. It would also be nice to set them by drawing type (a 10' grid doesn't make much sense in details). But I don't find this to be a big problem and would rather see the development resources go into more important things.

You list 1040 as your current update, I had the same problem until I updated AC. The other times I saw this was that either if I opened the view by clicking on the navigator and then opened it by selecting it on plan (or vice versa) and it would reset.
