How can i add many holes in a slab?

I have a slab for a decoration roof i want to make witch must have many littlee holes like the acoustical panels

Once you place the first hole, you can use other editing commands on it, like drag a copy or multiple.

This is the usual way, wich i know can use if u want to put holes in a wall,NOT in a slab.
Also, the file is getting very hevy and imoprt-export problems begins

Anyway, i found my self a better way:
You put in the slab u want to make holes, variable columns with the diameter yu want but a little taller than the slab,
then with the inersection of the solid elements tool u cut the columns and its done

Its lighter that the usual way,u can make it block or gdl,and work fine with import-export(like atl)

This does work for SLABs also. In fact it is a lot easier than the process you are suggesting using SEOs. The part you are maybe missing is that once you have put one hole in the slab you must select just the hole and not the slab to make multiple copies of. In fact you can use the Multiple command to do a matrix of holes in one easy step.

uh, actually you can cut holes in slabs, but not walls. (holes, not SEOs)

SEOs do work, but you will pay the price in performance. The more of them you have the more your 3D window (and sections and elevations) will slow down.

I smell, ironic attitude outhere...
Anyway, the 2nd way with seo works fine in my export file to atl,instead of the usal way with holes wich must be merged in atl,and the resultat isnt so smooth

Cutting holes in slabs has been the way to do it since AC4.5 and is still the best way! With SEO you do not get proper 2D representation:
1. if you hide the hole object holes do not show
2. if you do not hide the hole object it appears in SectionElevation.
So, that's the use?

I do not know anything about the ArtL problems - there are no such problems exporting to Max.

Dekanat, No irony intended. I just tried an export to ATL using "Holes in Slab" method (no SEOs) and it worked very well. I am not sure what problem you are having with this.
