how do you delete elements

do you select the elements and then click the clear/delete command?
try this:
my 'x' letter is my 'clear' command in my keyboard; keep the 'x' pressd , dont let go...with ur mouse single click the elements to be deleted...or fence it...and keep going

i have seen alot of people doing the first one.....do it my way

doesn't this affect your ability to type in 'x' coordinates in the coordinate box? i suspect you have found a bug with single-key shortcuts more than a feature . . . .
