how to change window type but retain other properties

Dave Brach
Expert
I often want to change the type of a window, but maintain all the other properties. For instance change from a casement to an awning, or change from a casement to a casement/fixed combination, but keep everything else about the window the same (color, reveal, materials, sash size, rough opening, glass color, frame size installation condition etc.) I don't see how to do this. Can anyone help?

Eyedropper (absorb parameters) of the target window ( as placed on plan).
Then open the window tool settings.
When you find the window type you desire,
Syringe ( inject parameters) into the icon on the left,
Before you do anything else.
When you place this new window type it will have
The parameters of the previous (target) window type.

Doing as Mark suggest will give you a new window with the old object properties that you can then place in your plan.
If you want to swap an existing window then just select it and open the settings dialogue.
Then as Mark said inject onto the icon of the new window object and when you press OK you original window will have swapped to the new window type but with the sane parameter settings as the old window.
