Any idea on how I can call up these Frame & Leaf finishes in the Properties?
I'd like to take the entire code (surface name), split it & output just the code to the left of the delimiter.
Looking to do the same thing to the Windows as well. is there somewhere in the long list of Object Properties that call these up?
Operating system used: Windows 10

Unfortunately, classifications and properties can not access object parameters.
From the expression based properties FAQ ...

is there a possible (even long-winded) workaround for this? or will this gap forever be in place until GS does something about it?

What are you wanting to do with the code once you have it?
Of course you can add a property to the door, but you will have to manually add and update the code yourself - it can't read it from the object.
Or you could create a GDL label to read and split that parameter if you just want to display it as a label.

mainly to be added to a schedule. currently we do this where we have to have a second step to call up the door finishes.
the codes are the same, but unfortunately it is independent to the GDL settings which call up the Surfaces.
we can only do so much with the Favourites & can't always guarantee that myself or anyone else in the team is vigilant enough to check that the codes in both the GDL Door / Window element match the selected Property Option Set.
