how can I make a roof whitch is round, curved?? something like a half-pipe?
because I have a corridor and at it`s ends the roof is half of a dome and between those halfs of domes I need that "half-pipe" to connect them
I am sure you`ll have trouble understanding...sorry! but if it`s the case I`ll post an image of the structure

Depending on the version of Archicad you use, you'll either (Archicad9) make arched roof elements using the roof tool - see attached.

Or: make a custom profile in the shape of an arch to be used with a wall. Archicad 10.

There is also a primitive object - Shell 10 - that will do basic arch geometry

how do you control the number of 'facets' or roof sections that make up the curved roof? by default, i'm getting five segments - i need a smooth barrel vault instead.

Lindsay,
I believe the number of facets in a barrel vault roof
is controlled in the magic wand settings.

Thanks Peter.

Yes it was there.

My question - what does the magic wand have to do with arched roofs?

The magic wand settings define the global curve to facet resolution.
