my guide lines disappear after the next operation. How do I keep them on the screen until I want to manually remove them. NOthing under "guide line options"

Ah yes that would be nice wouldn't it. I have wondered the same thing but just assumed the Graphisoft programmers thought we would only need them for one operation. AFAIK you can't have them stay on the screen but maybe someone out there knows how to achieve this.

They will indeed disappear after the completion of an operation.
There is no way I know of to delay this.

If you need a more permanent solution then you will have to use lines and delete them when not needed or better still put them in a layer you can simply turn off.
Then turn the layer back on if you need them again.
You can set up a few lines at common angles that you can move and duplicate as needed then just turn the layer off.

wow, I thought for sure I was just missing this in the settings somewhere. This is another area where sketchup is way more user friendly.
