secondly i tried using the roofmaker tool and both of them did not yield any results, can anyone offer any solutions

Place roof over wall at desired slant. Use SEO and subtract upward (or downward depending on desired result). The roof must remain in place, however. Just place it on a hidden layer.

Use that method if you want to slant the top of the wall. If you want to slant the face of the wall use the Battered Wall object.
You could also have a loot at an add-on product like ArchiWall from Cigraph
