Hello everyone,

I need some help with modeling a funny shape side screening. I'm using Archicad 9. I'll try to attach some images so you can better understand what I'm after. If anyone could help, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,
Danivici

Use the same principle as before: create a Profile for the section of the canopy and another Profile for what you see from the side.
Then create two Walls perpendicular to each other and make a SEO intersection between the two.

Are you trying to produce something like the attached image?

Hi Danivici,

Create a profiled wall (using a wavy profile that matches the elevation) by magic wanding a polyline (the polyline has the shape of the section B-B). Then you can save the result as an object (and thus achieving the rotation to horizontal position).

If you define the profile as horizontal, instead of vertical, then no saving as an object is required. It can stay a wall.

Hm, How do you get it wavy along wall refline if you make the profile horizontal? Do you know something I don't?

I was suggesting that solution as the wavy profile has to follow a curved line that leaps on the Z axis (it has a double curvature). Am I missing something here?

Hi Danivici,

I guess I haven't read very carefully your previous post (sorry about that). Basically, you can use the method I've described above in AC9 too, only that instead of profiled walls you can use the <Profiler> tool that comes as an add-on (it's the same profiler that Peter suggested in his post). Simply create that wavy profile using fills, then (using the profiler) create an object by following that curved line in plan. After that, simply rotate your object to become horizontal (you can do that by resaving it from the 3D window, while looking at it from the side or by using Peter's wonderful Rotator from here http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php?browse=Depository/Archicad%20Modules)

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your help

I'm trying to create the profile but after "magic wanding" the polyline I get the message/ warning below... It might be that AC9 can't do it
