move/adjust background grid

how does one move the background grid? I have already built my model, but now I want it to correspond to the grid and I don't want to have to move everything in the model....

And then, to re-establish the grid, study "Coordinates Palette" to set rotated grid [this can also shift a grid]. pg 2413
