Hi all.
I have, with only minor issues, managed to create a site mesh for a site on Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula that has a rugged cliff on the lakeshore. However, I have not been able to find a way to create an "overhanging cliff."
For example, the waterline is cut back below the edge of the cliff above, cantilevering the earth above out over the lake. My understanding of meshes leads me to believe that this is not possible with a standard mesh, but I was hoping to get some suggestions on other ways to model such a topographical feature.
Others may know better ways, but first off the mesh would have to be solid, then create other mesh/object and place in appropriate place, and do a SEO subtractions with downward option for absolute vertical, or:
You could make the cutting object irregular, and just do a subtraction. Then put the subtracting object on a hidden layer as above of course.
Second way might be more realistic.
