overriding stair tool

I'd like to design a ships ladder but the stair tool places limits on the rise to run ratio. can i override this? i just want to make it steeper than the tool allows. thoughts?

Build the stair out of complex profiles. It's fast and you'll be happier.

Or try the Archicad object library->specialties->ladders.

the specialties library ladders don't offer even less flexibility. complex profiles you say. i've been doing my best to avoid that. i guess i'll have to open up the tutorials now.
