"Polygon is degenrated"?

there's a door object called "dp_door_panels_usa.gsm" that appears to cause havoc in the 3D viewing of the file.

How can I fix this?
Where can I find out what parameter to fix this door?
do I need GSM language knowledge? (I hope not)

The report actually says.....
"Polygon is degenerated.
"at line 3884 in the 3D script of file"
"dp_door_panels_usa.gsm"

help...thanks.

It is most likely a parameter setting in the main door that is causing a downstream problem in the panel macro. The first thing to try is to reset the door to defaults and see if that fixes it. Then go step by step resetting it to what you need checking the 3D as you go.

You definitely DO NOT want to venture into the labyrinth of the door and window GDL scripts. It would almost certainly be easier to write the door you want from scratch.

Many times when I had such an error message come up, the reason was that some parameter got set to zero which should not have been.
I would first look around the parameters that define the Frame/Sash/Panel.

it is my understanding that there is a "Polygon Counter" add-on for AC?
but....I've only seen that it exists for AC10?....is there a polygon counter add-on that was made for AC16???

Please advise.

Yes, there is. The Help\ArchiCAD 16 Downlaods menu command will take you to the page where you can download it.
But it has nothing to do with this problem and will not take you closer to solving it. Since the GDL object is degenerated, its 3D is not created so it will not even show up in the Polygon Count Add-On if I am not mistaken.

The other common cause is when a length is to small for all the bits to fit. Like a sash that is too small for the frame, muntins and glass specified. Well written parts try to preclude these things from happening but it's hard to predict and avoid all possible errors.
