shadow diagram

I am trying to create a 2D shadow diagram for local council. In the past I thought I just copied and pasted from a 3D plan view and pasted the polygon shadow in 2D . When I try to copy in 3D nothing happens , am I doing something wrong or do I have to ajust my settings

Gian I dont have archicad handy but you can save the 3D VIEW as lines and polygons or a pmk file. Even better you can make a short movie which is limited to the times of the day that you need to represent. the movie is saved as individual files for insertion into PM

I just tried and it worked fine form the internal engine, are you trying from open GL or the Internal engine?

Yes I double check and I am using the internal engine ,though I still can,t copy in 3d

Are you using the "flat" marquee? You can only copy linework/fills from the 3D window with this no-depth marquee.

When in 3D, press the marquee geometry button in the info box and this will be the button all the way to the right. It should be the default geometry; this has been on the wishlist for many years.

Could someone please tell me how to copy a shadow from a 3D window. I can not seem to select it at all. I have the contours on and I am using the internal engine however there seems to be no way to select the shadow to copy it.

I figured it out now... Marquee and then Control C. Thank you.
