solid element operation

For a roof that has a cut out/ hole - you do it with solid element operation put in non printing layer and subtract. It deletes in 3d and elevations etc, but not on roof plan, why?

Solid element operations are not reflected in any plan view.When posibble use the roof tool itself to subtract holes the way you need to see them in plan. This will also show in section and 3D.
