solid fill visibility in elevation

I have assigned a 50% solid fill to a material. When I view this material in section or internal elevation, the fill is not visible. I have 3D vectorial hatching turned on and other vectorial fills show up, however the 50% solid fill (or any other solid fill) do not.

I can confirm that % fills do not show up when linked to a material.
I can't say why not though.
I just use a solid fill with a light grey pen.

Thanks Barry,
It is a pity though that a solid fill in a light pen doesn't work if I am setting up my drawings to be black and white. Our office still uses coloured lines to represent the different line thicknesses so I can't set the drawings to match the pen set or to grey scale as then the lines won't show properly. I guess I could create a new pen set for internal elevations that is all blacks and greys . . . . anyway, thanks for confirming what I suspected.
cheers,
Kathryn

This is interesting.
I have just come across a plan that has % fills attached to a material in the elevation and they show up fine.
So it is possible.

The mystery is that these are new fills that have been created.
If I swap this new % fill with the original % fills (25%, 50%, etc.) then the fill in elevation disappears.
If I add the new fill to a material and then attach that to an element the fill appears.

So it seems like there is something wrong with the default original %fills.

I have tried to create a new fill from these original fills and they won't show either.
I have also tried to create a new fill from the solid fill and given it 50% transparency and it will not show either.

So the thing is to now find out how these new fills were created.

I will be sure to post back if I find the answer.

And just to prove the wall can have a % fill on the material.

OK I have the answer.
You need to create a new fill but make sure you choose the "Solid" option.
Once created then you can set the level of transparency %.

Attach this new fill to your materials and it will show up fine in the elevations.

Awesome Barry,

Just created a 50% fill as directed and it works fine.

You've made IE's just that little bit easier.

Thanks heaps!
