split properties in elevation, really!

Enclosed .JPGs of 3d window, plan, plan with marque selction set, single ofending wall and it's properties displayed, and the real problem, the appereance of the elevation.

All selections except selction set, to verify no duplicates, were copied with same settings and selection. There are columns in this wall but they are well inside of the outside face and parallel with the control line.

Perhaps someone has been here before and can point me in the right direction, because I am stumped.

Also, as noted in my signature this is a product of ver 7............

How is the gable formed in the elevation? It looks like it is in the same plane. How does it look when the gable piece is turn off?
How does it look when you turn the columns off?
Also check for walls on walls in the walls perpendicular to the problem wall.

David,

Thanks for the reply. Well I tried turning off the columns, no difference. I pulled the perpendicular wall away from the offending wall, no difference. Also attached is a 3D shot of the whole house to demonstrate the relativity of the gable/bump-out to the wall in question.

I am sure this is something minute and may just have to work around it with fills in elevation. But, I have to admit I tend to over-model things to make certain that it all "really" ( too many hours solving real world problems on site because they weren't worked out correctly in the first place, read 2D.) works and it just sort of eats at you when something in the model is off because that means something in the documents can be off.

Any other ideas?

Well Jeff, I don't know.
Have you tried recreating the bad wall from scratch and see if still happens?

That'll be next. I had to print up the documents with a fill for now, needed to show them to the county for preliminary checks. I will have more time to play with it later today and try and get to the root of the problem.

Thanks for your efforts. It's a puzzle isn't it?

The problem will be with your roof trim. Try undoing it, then redoing it or just lessening the height of the wall.

That'll fix it!

Cheers,
Link.

Gidday Mr. Ellis,

Well, well, well. And you knew that how? I will attach the effects. I still have a lingering problem I am afraid. The change of roof trim, on or off, corrects the wall appearance however when I retrim the wall it reverts to the half on/half off hatch. And this is with the adjusted height.

So whatever you are onto it's correct but there must be more..............................

Off to tend to christmas errands but I'll be back. Ho Ho Ho.........
