stairs and railings

We want to do a vrscene of a reception area and stair. We want the stair to be as correct as we can get it. Is there an easy way to get 9 horizontal 5/8" dia. plus a 1.5" handrail on a stair.?I keep getting booted out of archicad when I try to make this using the stair tool. I'll keep trying. But any advise would be great.

Thanks,Michele

The only way I know how to model accurate stair handrails/ balustrades is to fully model it using object parts, Trussmaker or another third party tool.

I have also found that Stairmaker can crash when you re-open a stair for editing. Also I find that the baluster post positions are not very flexible.

My experience is much the same. Crashes and not a lot of flexibility. I almost have what I need. I'm going to put the horizontals in with the stairs object and then just put the posts in with the cylinder object. THe more archicad gives me the more I want it to do. I guess everything can be improved on.

Thanks,
Michele
