trim to roof... still hanging in there?

really wish we could see ALL connections in the flyout for solid element operations and merge, or better yet, just eliminate trim to roof all together... it's only necessary for skylight/zone relationships, and it seems that could be fixed by allowing zones to relate to roofs in schedules with SEO.

Agreed. After several issues with Trim to Roof on a complicated project, I've given it up in favor of SEO Subtraction with Upward Extrusion.  So much more reliable.

SEO is the way to go indeed, as it does not screw up when you have multiple roof planes...

Crop to roof is a one off fixed trim that is not associated to the roof once done.

Many versions ago it was actually called 'trim to roof' - before we got the new Connect > trim to roof command.

As it is the old cropping method and is not associated with the roof, that is why it appears as an option in the wall settings to undo the crop.

As it is not associated to the roof, it does not appear in the connection list (explained below).

SEO and the new trim/merge commands are associated to the roofs/shells.

They appear in the connection list when you select an element involved in the connection.

You will see a little blue connection icon that can be expanded and the connections can be seen and cancelled there if need be.

The connected elements will all highlight as you pick items in the list.

the Trim section of that pop out also appears strangely hit or miss; often times it will not list trimming bodies that have become disconnected from the roof/shell they were trimmed to; then you have to go to the info box, track down that obscure "remove wall crops" option

That connection pop-out will not list roof crops.

They are totally different.

Connections are live and connect to other elements, which is what the list is showing.

Roof crops are fixed and don't associate to the cropping roof once the crop is made.

That is why they only appear as a 'remove crop' option in the settings of the wall.
