what's the latest on transparency in elevations?

I have searched the forum on this subject and as far as I am aware this is not possible, in Layout, that is. Am I correct? I have tried all the combinations with no success. In fact, having got it to work in View Map, and then gone to Layout, on return even the View Map version flips back to transparency on!

As others have commented, I cannot believe that this could be allowed to persist by Graphisoft. The need to produce a clean elevation is as about as basic as it can get!

Apart from poor implementation there is a bug where views cannot be redefined to update the transparency settings. You'll need to recreate them entirely and place new drawings in your layout.

Cheers,

Many thanks Link.

Putting your plan into action, and having already set up my Drawings, I thought I would try and go down the Link route—no pun intended—and Hey Presto, that works too! So it was all rather painless in the end!

...And if that is not clear for those even greener at this than I, in the Layout itself, highlight the Section in question and right click to get the connection to "Link" the existing view in your Layout to the new view that has been created.

And if that is not enough information, my process was to create a new Temporary folder in the View Map (since the 'Link to Drawing' function refers to the View Map) and place new views in this folder. Then I 'Linked' the Views in the Layout Drawing and after updating, deleted the Temporary folder.

...And having completed the process, for final clarification, in starting all this off, in Plan View before any Elevations are taken, set Transparency to Off in the 3d Window settings.
