windows openings mid plate in a stairwell?

my plate are slabs, walls go all the way around and at the stairwell portion the plate is opened up. I have windows that are mid plate and not punching through the walls on two floors. without making one wall here, is there a way to make the window punch through all walls its set in?

I have used an empty opening in the portion of wall that the window extends into (either above or below).
