License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

zone list 'user defined' parameters?

Anonymous

In the past we have used the zone list set to produce a finish schedule, but we have not figured out how to use the interactive scheduler or list schemes to produce a schedule with the parameters we want to show. we are using the RoomIdentifier_NCS stamp which has User Defined listing parameters, however when in the interactive schedule, these do not appear as available parameters. In the 'additional parameters' menu there seems to be no zone stamp options...only door, window, lamp, and object parameters. Is there some menu somewhere I am missing to enable listing the listing parameters of this zone stamp?

thanks for your help!

Hi Katie,

All parameters of all objects are available, but only the common ones appear in the Fields list. See the attached screenshot. What you want to do is:
  • click on the Additional Parameters... button (lower left)
select "All Types by Subtype" from the Show Library Part Types drop-down
  • Expand "Drawing Symbol" (click the +)
  • Now, either click the box in front of Zone Stamp to get a list of all parameters that are common to the Zone Stamp subtype...which does include the ones you want ... or (writing this for others who have their own custom stamps and fields), expand the Zone Stamp list and click on your custom stamp.
  • Finally, you'll note that all possible fields are pre-selected in the lower box. Not what you want. You only want the User Defined ones it seems, so shift-click to select them all, check one to uncheck them all, ctrl-click on one to deselect that element, then click on that deselected element to deselect them all (this BIZARRE behavior has been reported to GS and will be fixed in some future version)...and FINALLY check the fields that you want in your schedule and click OK.
Hope that helps. If you can make it to ACUWest in Los Angeles (see below), I'll be presenting the workshop on Interactive Schedules and cover all things basic to advanced. Tuesday is the last day to register online at the early bird discount.

You will need to pull out the specific parameters from the Zone Stamp to be used in the IS settings...

In the "Schedule Settings" dialog click the "Additional Parameters..." button - The trick is to sort by "All Types by Subtype" to find your Zone Stamp that you want to schedule. (Hint: Zone Stamps are considered as "Drawing Symbols")

Once selected the parameters can then be called and scheduled in the Interactive Schedule.

thank you thank you! Karl's description worked like a charm. Another secret of the mysterious interactive scheduler unlocked.
would like to go to an ACU but currently no plans for this one, would be nice to go to CA since we're all stuck up here in the frozen tundra of Connecticut (not as frozen as some places, however!)

cheers,
