How to set up default settings for a tool?

Hi,

We're finally moving from 27 to 29 and when we transferred the template we noticed that a lot of the tools have weird settings - missing layers, missing attributes etc.

I set up proper settings for each tool and when I reopen the template and I first click on a tool I do get the settings I previously set, without having to go through favorites.
The problem is that these standard settings are not visible for for everybody else - If other people open the same template file and click on a tool they still see the old default settings, which have to be adjusted.
It is frustrating because to use a basic tool we need to adjust many parameters - pens, layers, home story etc.

Is there a way to set up a standard/template settings set for each tool which is saved on the file, rather on the computer of the user?

Thank you!

Operating system used: Windows 11

Solution: In order for the default settings to be saved a new template file needs to be made by the person who has set the proper settings.

The default tool settings should be saved with the template file.

But saving the template will not alter any other files you have already created.

It will only reset the tools when you start a new file based on that template.
