Hello, I have two questions regarding Grasshopper, which are as follows:
1) Wall reference lines: I have a project that’s partially modeled in Archicad 29 (which is very large), and I need to clad the walls. To do this, I reference them in Grasshopper and deconstruct them to rebuild them using a Structure Composite. To ensure they end up in exactly the same position, I’d like an option that inherits the reference lines from the original walls in Archicad. As shown in the screenshot, I understand that the RL (Reference Line) output already provides a default value, which indicates that all reference lines are “outside.” But this isn’t the case in the model, since I have both “interior” and “exterior” walls. And the “Wall Settings Composite” properties cause all walls to share the same reference line definition. My question is: Is there any way to identify and inherit the reference lines from Archicad into Grasshopper, thereby avoiding having to move the curves in Rhinoceros and relink them?
2) Using the same Door GDLs: Basically, I want to inherit the doors I’ve already selected in Archicad into Grasshopper and then relink them so I can hollow out the walls. However, I don’t have an option in “Deconstruct Door” and then in “Extract Door Settings” that allows me to relink to “Door Settings” so that a bake is automatically performed for Archicad. I understand that right-clicking and checking “Select Archicad Library Part” allows me to select them, but it’s tedious—especially when I have more than 20 doors, most of which are different. This would significantly speed up the process of making quick corrections and improve the workflow. I’m basically doing this to generate the openings in the walls where these elements will go. My question is: is there a way to keep the same door GLDs used in my Archicad file and transfer them to Grasshopper so I can use them again later? Or, alternatively, by referencing the existing walls in Grasshopper, can I create openings in them with the same dimensions as the doors in the Archicad model?
Thank you for your time!
