2)assigned the skin (plaster) which i want to wrap around the column as core and rest are assigned as finished.
3)created a column using wrapped method but i am not getting it.
I think I'm missing something.

first off all ... .your plaster must be assign as finish not as core !
Core will NOT wrap around
only finish (and other))
You must create your wall in OPTIONS-ELEMENT ATTRIBUTES-COMPOSITES
then it will warp around...
I tryed now with complex profile wall and its not working niether which is VERY stupid. I dont know is this bug or what ? But its not working.
If you create your wall with complex profile it will NOT warp around !!!!
this is something that must be included in next archicad update (not archicad 14 but archicad hotfix update)
will GS fix this stuff on next update....i dont know !!!???

i created custom profile walls for the whole external wall & i need to assign different paint shades for internal plaster.
In custom profile diagloue box only the height can be edited.

capture or edit your profile of wall
split your plaster in parts that you want to be diffrent material
assign color or material clicking on a "set parametars for profile edge"
and there you go
