Annotations, counting and labeling all the beams

Hey everyone,

I have a project and I want to automatically count and label all the beams on each floor plan.

My problem is that even though I have 4 different beams in a row (as you can see in the picture)

Archicad counts them and mark them each different but using the same number BMR 038

Ideally it should be BMR 038, BMR 039,BMR 040, BMR 041....

(For the moment I can upload the picture, it gives me an error, but I will try again later)

Operating system used: Windows 11

Hi,

I would also take a look at this option - it may be checked in your case but you do not want it to be.

Hi @NarsilEa

Maybe it could be just an issue about the IDs of your beams. Try to set a new criteria to rename them with Element ID Manager tool. You can find it at Document > Listing Extras > Element ID Manager

Just select all the beams in your project and apply the new criteria you set.

Thanks, it worked, now it counts them as individual items, but it looks like it counts beams on other floors as well.

What I do is

Select all beams-->document -->annotations-->label selected elements. My basement has 82 beams, I get readings as high as 150... I think it mixes the numbers between all floors, even though all beams are linked story-->home story (current), basement in this case...

Hi @NarsilEa

You can do a finest selection with Find and Select before applying the criteria so you only change the IDs of the beams you really want.

You can also change the starting number for the ID format as seen on the image below so a logic sequence can be set.
