Any way to Copy+Paste a module but retain the hotlink...?

That is, Copy+Paste a module into a different PLN file.

Whenever I do it, it breaks the hotlink, copying "copies" of the elements that make up the module, into the target PLN. It keeps them as a "group", but that group is no longer a hotlinked module, disconnected from its original source.

Any way of making it keep the hotlink?

Place the module in the file, as you should have done for the first file.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid that. It's not so simple when you have multiple modules all with differing elevations needing to be set (as in the case of a neighbouring building with multiple stories, with differing storey heights). In addition to the xy origin of each module too.

And when re-Placing the module(s) , there's also the extra step of deselecting the modules in the source PLN when you COPY.

I know it's not a showstopper, but it's a pain compared to a simple "Paste Special > Retain Hotlinks" option.

Instead of replacing, break the link and link to a new module.
Have you tried just copying the file?

Hard to really help when you don't tell us what you are trying to achieve.

Is 'Suspend Groups' unchecked in both files when copying and pasting?
