Everything is fine, it scales correctly and everything looks right, but some of the text is the wrong font, color & size.
I have gone into the original, selected those items, changed the font and size -- they change on the original, but they won't change when I update. I have looked for locked layers and other settings that might affect it, but to no avail.
What am I doing wrong?

What do you mean by 'it scales correctly'?
As far as I know a Hotlinked Module cannot be modified, it cannot be scaled, it is treated as a locked group.
Maybe it is not a Hotlinked Module anymore.
Could you clarify this for me?

is it a dwg 'xref' or a PLN 'hotlink' module that you are linking into your project file?
are you using teamwork? -> you need to be signed into ALL the elements of the external file to update it.
when you say change in the "original", do you mean the dwg or the modified PLN? -> your translator could be mapping fonts and colours incorrectly if it is the dwg you are making the changes in.
are you

By scaling, I meant that if I changed the plan scale the module changed scale correctly as a whole. Sorry for the confusion.
As it turns out, I am just an idiot.javascript:emoticon('') I found that there were several layers from the original dwg that had text on them unexpectedly and I had to find all of them and change them. It all came out right.
I apologize for taking up valuable space on the board, but I learned a couple of things from your replies.
Thanks!

Thanks for letting us know, we are at least not left in a mystery of what could have been wrong.

The most "obviuos" mistakes can waste you hours ... ever reinstalled the sound system and spent hours cursing before relaizing that the mute is on?
