Hi,
Does someo e know a way to create a classification file outside of Archicad, in Microsoft excel or any other software , without manual intervention?
Dors archicad developpers create exixsting xml files inside archicad manually?
I write theese lines after months of research on internet, and a lot of xml file editing senarios, some people write formulas in excel to mimic the xml file structure, the they copy the result to the xml file as a fragment, but it doesn't work easily,
Any thought??
Thanks

Hello, I am a BIM developer working on classifications and properties for the Swiss market. Are you looking for classifications and properties? What exactly do you want to work on?
I have developed a tool in Excel myself, which can manage classifications and properties and import them into ArchiCAD. Where are you from?
Best regards

Hello,
I'm from Tunisia, we dont have a standard classification system, so I always need to update my classification naming and numbering, and sometimes creating long properties lists ,

I already manage small classifications using excell like shown in this image, it's hard to track

Hello, I am curious about the tool you developed. Could you give us a tip how to create it? We need to make a whole classification system with properties. We have a list of both in one CVS file, but dont know how to transform them to XML.
Thank you.

BIMdio,
Can you provide information on the Excel tool you developed? Is this tool available for purchase?

Hi, I coded wirh VBA in Excel a tool that can create such classification and properties.
It was a big effort to code that. I can sell it to you if you need it. For what do you need it? What is the usecase?
I can show you the excel on a teams meeting if you wish.
best regards

Thank you BIMdio, I need to create approximately 100 parameters and link them to classifications, the tree will have about 3300 rows. I have cvs and xls data. It would took me maybe one day. So, if the price would be lower than my dayli wage, I would considere purchase. You can contact me via message.

We use property manager data extensively to generate material take-off schedules. Over time, as new projects are created from the template, which is refined over time, those updates need to be "chased" through previously created projects. (It feels like performing factory recalls on projects!).
While the property manager can be exported and imported via xml files, it would be helpful to have an interface that could facilitate the process.
(We are longing for the day when attributes can be centrally controlled in a library-like manner.)
