Door belongs to the Zone into which it opens - bug?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Some doors appear to be not accepting the zone into which they open, while some do.

Bug?

Have the same type of door being used D1 Commercial Door 19, and one will accept the Zone, while the other one doesn't. For scheduling purposes I've had to create a "Location" heading, but of course if I change a zone name, I have to remember that only some doors accept the change.

Thoughts?

SOLUTION:

The zone cannot overlap the door, but has to be touching the face of the door swing swing side. See attached.

Is there any particular reason why your Zones are modeled like that? I suppose you use the Manual construction method for those Zones and not the Automatic boundary recognition methods.
Because whichever the reason, there are now discrepancies in the file since with one Zone the boundary is at the Wall edge, with another it is at the Wall center. Is that not a problem?

Yea, it is an existing structure. Person who modeled it before didn't do it properly. So had to fudge the zones to match what the City's numbers are for the square footage. 😕
