Doors and Windows Schedule Automatic Dimension Button not Responding

In Archicad 28, I can't click the preview button and drop down arrow to select automatic dimension for the 2D plan and 3D Front View when I  click on them in the schedule. What exactly can i do?

Operating system used: Windows 11

Select one of the elevation / plan boxes within your schedule. This will enable that menu option. Or is it that you cannot actually select the elevation / plan?

I can click on the plan and elevation view of the door, the problem is that I can't click on the preview button on the left hand side to bring out the drop down option where automatic dimension is tucked in just as in highlighted in the image below.

It still doesn't respond after closing and reopening the schedule on a fresh tab, creating new door schedule or even closing and reopening Archicad as a whole

Hi there,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

This behavior can occur when there is insufficient screen space because the screen resolution is too low, for example. At a resolution of 1024 × 640 or lower, larger tabs, such as the Preview tab or the Text Style tab, may not open because they cannot fit within the available screen area.

As outlined on the System Requirements page, the minimum recommended display resolution for Archicad is 1440x900; lower resolutions may result in visual limitations such as this.

The same issue may also occur when the Archicad window is too small, so I recommend checking whether the tabs become available when Archicad is maximized or used in full-screen mode. Increasing the screen resolution (if possible) or testing with an external monitor can also resolve the problem.

I hope you'll find this helpful.

Kind regards,
Kornél

Ah, so it is not greyed out, it just does not expand. As alluded to by Kornel, try collapsing all of the other tabs to free up UI space.

Thank you for the reply, I'll try the solutions you offered on a higher screen resolution. I am actually using a 14 inches Acer predator laptop, that might have contributed to the issue at hand.

Still on the doors and windows schedule matter, after setting my doors and windows markers, I use Element ID in Listing Extras to tag and merge all similar doors and windows sizes. The issue is that it turns up in descending order say; D1 = 750mm doors, D2 = 900mm Doors, D3 = 1200mm doors. It supposed to assign the doors from an ascending order - assigning D1 to 1200mm doors to the smallest which is D3 - 750mm doors. Is there a way to automatically achieve these sorting? Because I still have to sort them manually.

Didn't find the answer?
