Using Zones to Calculate Building Weights?

Can you use the zone tool to calculate the weight of the various components which it encompasses (i.e. wall weight and slab/roof weight? Has anyone tried to use zones to calculate the weight it encompasses? Thanks for the thoughts/inputs.

Export the ArchiCAD schedule to Excel where you can use formulas easier.
