WAN and library issues

Hi All

Is there any way to disable/switch a loaded library from existing .pln's?

Our company uses a WAN with our standard house models and master libraries stored on the server in the head office. When the remote offices copy these standard models to there PC's to create the contract drawings, the .pln trys to load the library from the main server.
This is a major issue as the connection between our offices is less than good.
Any advice on this will be huge help.

If you use windows, then make a network unit that have the same name and unit at both offices. This would solve this, or else you have to change the path manually when you open it.

You could try creating a drive letter on every machine to map the library to. Then have your servers automatically copy your library from the main server to the remote servers, then simply map your library drive letter to that location on the local servers. If all of your files point to the drive letter and not the full path then you should be fine with speed.

Keep in mind that you will have UPDATING issues if you create or modify library parts! Especially if more than one person works on the same project.

I don't know if you can autosynch back to the server, but you'll have to explore some kind of method to keep the server library and all those that are working on a particular project updated.

I would certainly recommend that each machine use it's own copy of the AC11 library. Any changes made to AC parts might then go into your OFFICE LIBRARY.
