how fo you set your layers?
i set interior objects and exterior objects, hide one of the both if i need to navigate
sometimes, i use the marquee.
but how about you?

Consider reducing some of the OpenGL qualities AND reduce the rendering radius

i use a layer combo that has all internal stuff turned off, with or without the marquee, which will be either thin (story only) or thick (all stories) depending what i'm doing. I also tend to turn off meshes as they tend to just get in my way.... No people, no trees.... that will only come on for the 'final production' images, not whilst working.
