and this brings up a question that I have been working around for a while.
If all the building sections have the furniture layer turned on when creating them and at some time in the future I decide that I would not like to
show the furniture, is there a way to turn the layer off on all of the placed sections without having to replace all of them individually?

When you saved your sections to placed them on layouts you had to choose a Layer Set for that Saved View at a later date if you edit that Layer Set to turn the Furniture off then all drawings that use that Layer Set will automatically (on update) turn them off.

Yes. That is why you create "Layer Sets" and "Saved Views".

A placed drawing in Layout has specifc settings that you assign. These include layer sets, scale, line weight, dimension settings etc. If these settings are correctly defined then if you edit the relevant one all the drawings that are "connected" to it will change.

If not, I'm just going to let it go for now.
Thank you!

It is something you can do after the Views are placed on the layouts. To assign a Layer Combination to different drawings.
