I had set up a list of Zone category, and save it to xml file. When I open a new project, i try to import them using  Property manager , the system told that it has been successfully imported but I cannot find the list of Zone category. I check the zone classification and properties options, I had choose the correct version. it still not working, why?

I know I can use the attribute manager and import the list. it work. why is that? what is the differences? between this 2 functions? thank you

Zone categories and classifications are two different things.

Zone categories are attributes and are controlled with the Attribute Manager.

These are the actual zones you place in the model and every zone must have a category.

So you must use Attribute Manager to import/export them.

Classifications are controlled with the Classification Manager.

Any classification can be assigned to any element.

The 'Space' category can be assigned to a zone, but it can also be assigned to any element.

Thank you for your clear explanation.
However, I use space category for the zone, but still not effective? why?
MY original project using space category, I import to new project and select the same space category, nothing change...

thanks

The 'space' classification will have no effect on the zone.

If you want to, you can classify a wall as a 'space' as well.

The classification just lets you associate particular properties to that element based on the classification you choose for it.

You can choose any classification you want for a zone.

The zone category is something you can set up in Element Attributes > Zone Categories.

Or you can import them from another file or template with the Attribute Manager.

It will give your zone a category code, category name, colour and associate a zone stamp to it.

This is what you see when you place the zone.

So if you want a choice of zone colours and stamps, you have to set this up in Zone Categories.
