Microsoft has announced their latest operating system, Windows 11, which will be officially available from October 5, 2021. 

Graphisoft is continuously testing the latest releases of Windows 11. We have found Windows 11 to be fully compatible with our current products. Any known issues found so far and to be found in the future will be published under the Known Issues section below.

Note: Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 General Availability Channel until October 14, 2025. Graphisoft will support the latest Windows 10 as long as it is supported by Microsoft.

Windows 11 Channels, Editions

Microsoft has changed how updates and upgrades are rolled out for the operating system. The General Availability Channel will be changed to an annual feature update with Windows 11.

NOTE:

Graphisoft recommends the latest update to be used with Archicad.

Upgrade checklist

• Study Windows 11 articles for any known issues, difficulties
• Back up all of your data, including Archicad / BIMcloud specific data before upgrading the operating system. When switching from 32-bit to 64-bit, you need to perform a clean install of Windows. This means that you have to re-install all your software applications and migrate all your data after installing the system.
• Upload all Software keys to the License Pool
• Return all borrowed licenses before upgrading the OS
• Allow yourself enough time for the upgrade, do not upgrade the OS close to a deadline
• Install/update Windows.
• Install Archicad.
• Install all updates for the new operating system
• Install all updates for Graphisoft products
• Install the Windows 11 compatible protection key driver
• Test Archicad and the BIMcloud

Known issues

Hard to distinguish buttons in activated state

Affected version(s): Archicad 23, 24, 25 | Severity: cosmetic issue | ID: DEF-6419

Issue

In activated state, some buttons appear in grey color, making it difficult to recognize
