scroll wheel problem

sorry, i am not sure if this the right place to post, But I am having a problem with the scroll wheel! as I am working, all of a sudden, my scroll wheel on my mouse stops functioning! I can’t zoom in and out using my scroll wheel. I am have to quite AC and and relaunch the app. to restore this issue. This situation has been accruing often it is becoming distracting and annoying.

just to make sure its not a mouse problem, when this situation happens, i immediately switch to different app, say a an internet browser, the scroll wheel works just fine. has anyone encountered this problem before?
any ideas or suggestion?

Oh, I also noticed that when this situation happens, I don't get the green highlight when an object has been selected.

I've opened the mouse setting dialog in the control panel. Select the wheel tab at the top & then click on the troubleshooting tab.
Windows then guides you through a couple of steps to help resolve
the scroll wheel issue.
Keep Archicad open, as you will need to tell windows which currently
running program the wheel doesn't function correctly in.
Windows should then automatically re-configure the mouse wheel
so it works correctly......
