ArchiCAD 17 prompting for authentication to file server

Hi all,

We've been having an annoying issue with ArchiCAD 17 for a while now - AC will constantly prompt for other user's username/password when opening some teamwork projects. The username fields are pre-populated with other user's username, entering my own username and password works, but checking the keychain checkbox doesn't work so this comes up every time the project is re-opened.

The prompt can also be canceled with no error message, but I'm not sure what the side-effects of that might be.

Anyone else seen this kind of behaviour and if so, have you find a way to solve it?

I'll just add that we are still experiencing this issue, and it is definitely caused by Hotlinked Modules in a Teamwork file.
Archicad will pop up an authentication dialog for each different user that has placed a hotlinked module in the file.

BarbarA and filipp,

Do you guys also have Hotlinked Modules in your TW files?
I don't think I can offer any solution so this issue will go to Graphisoft but if we can find some common denominator to these issues we can help them track down the source of the problem.

Yes, I believe our TW projects also include hotlinked modules.

All,
This issue is related to the alias algorythm behaving differently in OS X 10.10 compared to previous OS versions. We were able to correct the new behavior in the next ArchiCAD18 Update which is planned to be released in March.

Until then the recommended workaround is to use "one dummy user login" to access the file server. The SMB/AFP/CIFS connection to the mounted server should be established with ONE and only one login info, and in this case the references and the hotlinks will be fine. In teamwork all users can use their own account this is only important for mounting the server!

Thanks for the reply, Katalin, glad to hear the issue will be addressed in AC 18 (although we are not planning to upgrade the project worst affected by this).

Hello Kathlin,

Thank for your answer but I don't understand.
We have 56 Archicad licenses on line.
Our IT enviromment is and must be professionnal.
We can't accept your answer : " Use a dummy account" ????
Our IT infrasfructure is based on a Microsoft Active Directory with rights managements. Do you know that ?

We pay tens of thousands of dollars to Graphisoft to hear that ???
We want and you must find us a professional solution and not a " workaround " based of "a dummy account"

I hope you are working of a Archicad 17 patch
Have a nice day
Kind regards
