Bim server 21 - Problem locating files in a remote server

Hi all,

As I mentioned in the topic, I have a weird problem with my LenovoEMC2 px12-450r and also any other computers which are running Win10.

I am on a Win10 Pro X64 computer.Remote server is LenovoEMC2 px12-450r.When I configure Bim server 21 and locate the remote LenovoEMC2 px12-450r to keep the "data" folder, it fails. At first I thought it was server's fault but when I try to locate an another win10 computer, it failed again. Both of them returned with "Network communcation" error.

So I suspected about SMB file sharing protocol when I gaze around log files and I read some similar issues which I was experiencing.

Is there anyone who can run the Bim Server 21 while all its files are located remotely, especially "/data" folder remotely located?

And it's not the solution also to locate "/data" folder into a remote computer. After a few trials, I can eventually installed the server with remote computer folder locations but the other and the worst problem occurred then.

The server works fine (not a Win10 computer but else), when I share a project on Teamwork, it starts to upload the parameters to the server, creates project, attachments, blobcache, data etc. but when user's computer starts its file transfer using ArchiCAD21 library, it gets stuck at "Get Content : 4 | Post Processing" and returns after a while with "Network Communication Error".

The only medium with remote "/data, /attachments, /projects, /blobcache" worked is with my old fashioned 8 year old Zyxel NSA310.No success with Win10 machines and also my office's NAS server Lenovo px12-450r.

Any help and thought will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

we strongly recommend to store all BIM Server data local on the computer that runs the server applications.

Our software was designed to provide the best possible performance, for that it heavily relies on the I/O performance of the storage.

Any storage solution that is accessible over a network introduces a latency, that can cause slowdown in the Teamwork performance.
