Fill text moving between users in teamwork

Kpetrocheilou

Hello everyone,

I am working in teamwork in a big project and we have placed fills with text in some areas. My colleague has manually moved the text in the right position, and we both did send & receive couple of times, but I keep seeing the text in a completely different place. We are both working in the same scale, and we have the same version (and updates) of AC. "Always readable" is selected from the Text style menu.

Below a screenshot of the problem in my computer. The text in the red frame should be in the position where the arrow points.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Katerina

Here is something you can try on the computer where the text is in the wrong place:

1. Send changes and Leave the Project.

2. Go to the Teamwork > Project > Local Data Manager and delete all Teamwork Projects and Libraries that belong to this Project.

3. Rejoin the Project.

Hopefully, this will solve the fill area text displacement issue.

Hi @Kpetrocheilou

Not sure if this has been resolved for you or not. have a couple of questions  regarding the above. Are you using the fill with show area text turned on? if not try using the auto text or a linked label with auto text added such as: "#Element ID", "#Area" this would give you the name of the fill (needs to named in Element ID) and also area. as this would be a linked element, it should only move if the fill is moved (move like a fill with 'show area text' turned on)

Apologies as i am unable to read the above but i am assuming it is the room name with the area. I have only recently started using Teamwork and have not had this pop up but we have been using 'Zones' and with the CI Tools stamp:

we have not been seeing any issues with the above. benefit is this also aids with scheduling as well.  sorry could not be of more help.

Hi Katerina, Parrakalo my first question, is that just text or a zone stamp that is moving out of position ? Hopefully others here can help troubleshoot this teamwork problem for you. I can see both Greek text and English text being used here on this project. Kali Merra Sus !

Hi!

Thank you for your reply.

We are using fill with the show area text on. I suppose using zones instead, is more suitable for this use, as we have also added manually the name of the room in those texts, but unfortunately it's quite a big project and we don't have the time right now to convert the fills into zones.

Any more thoughts about the fills?

Thanks again!

Hi mthd!

Kalimera to you too!

It's the text from the "show area text" option of a fill. We have added the room name manually, and my colleague has moved all these texts in the right place. We have sent & received, and checked to have the same settings in terms of scale, MVO, GO etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks again,

Katerina

Hmm ! The main thing I can think of is making sure the project origin is as close to the floor plan as possible. That may stop the fill area from jumping out of place ?

The main problem is that one user is seeing the fill area text in the correct spot while another no. And when we export the file it is again on the right spot. So it seems like a problem of teamwork connection (?). I am not really an expert on this, but it's the only thing I can think of, and I have no idea how this can be resolved.

Are you all on AC28.3.0 to see if that works ? If not it could be another bug to report.

You could create zones that automatically find the boundaries and then adjust them so they match the area fills. Then turn the area fills layer off for now. It is worth spending the time in fixing them up. Hopefully the Affitico agrees 😆.

Hello Laszlo,

Thank you very much. It seems to work fine now. So per my understanding, Local Data gets accumulated and might provoke problems in performance. So how often would you suggest to do that in a Teamwork project of around 5GB? And should everyone in the project do it?
