I thought that if user (A) is working on something in the database and user (b) is working on something else in the database....you can simply send/receive without problems..yet I was working on the layer settings while another user was working on the layout and viewmap and yet the other user could not do a SEND/RECEiVE from his end...why?

One possible scenario that would lead to this message:
If user A has the layers reserved, user B can still create a new layer and start using it. (You don't have to have layers reserved to create a new layer). However, when user B sends his/her changes, than this warning will appear, since the layer combinations on the server have to be updated with the new layer's information.

thanks much for the help.
humm....so there are "certain" pieces of the database which the BIM Server really doesn't quite know how to process when it's a part of the file that 'both' user "A" and user "B" have....interesting.
Wonder what else would trigger this kind of error message?
