Teamwork erratic behavior...

At first I was very pleased with the new Teamwork 2, i saw it as a great enhancement and leap forward...

Since i have been using it though my opinion is rapidly changing...
Teamwork 2 is getting on my nerves...

After this, now i have a new problem...
Today when i try to "Send & Receive", i get this error message: "A serious error has occurred during the receive process. Before you can continue editing this project, you must return to its latest Autosaved version. Any changes you made since the last Autosave will be lost!"
Then, when i click "Restore from Autosave", i get the message to receive changes, and on clicking "Receive now" i get the previous message again, entering an endless loop of error messages!

Thought i'd share this one, in case there is anyone interested...

When i "Open/Join teamwork project" the list appears saying that i have unsent changes

But instead when i choose to "Place a drawing from an external teamwork file" the same dialog appears just fine...

When do you choose "Place a drawing from an external teamwork file"
and get that other dialog that seems ok?

I often have problems with TW2 when I use several computers (some of them are in the office, others are at home) with same user
and sometimes I get "unset changes" even though they are set,
but mostly I have problems with Bim server showing offline when it's not...
I figure out my firewall is causing this, so I turned it off
and now everything seems to work just fine...

Not sure if there are already posts about these issues, but I wanted to voice my frustration with TW2 as well...

This same scenario applies to all issues...
BIMSERVER = iMac / OsX 10.5.8
Slave 1 = PC LAPTOP / Win7 64bit
Slave 2 = MacPRO (SF) / OsX 10.6.?

1. Text Boxes with the SAME FONT show up 20%-25% shorter on the MacPro. Making drawing around text boxes (like revision triangles) impossible to keep aligned... So, to be clear, when I open it up on my iMac, text boxes are longer and often run off the page... If I fix them, then they appear 25% shorter on the MacPRO. And, of course, this works in reverse. If text blocks editing on MacPRO, when I view them on iMac, they are longer...

In addition, when edited on the MacPRO, then looked at on the iMac, it is obvious that the text block (hotspots) are fixed in the place they were on the MacPRO, but the actual text is running over them..

2. Story levels are not consistent between the two macs... If I set up an elevation with story levels and all looks fine in elev window and layout, opening the elevation on the MacPRO... the story markers disappear... Then, when the layout is opened and the elevation is UPDATED, they are gone from the layout version as well.

Opening the same elevation back up on the iMac will show that the ELEV Markers are still SELECTED TO SHOW in the dialog box, but are not showing in the elev. window or on the layout. Typically either a REBUILD (not from model, crap that would be really horrible) brings them back or deselecting and re-selecting their visibility in the dialog box brings them back...

There are other more isolated incidents of items disappearing and changes not making it back to the host file, but virtually un-documentable...

Just wondering if others have experienced similar issues... I am ready to relegate the text block issue to the difference between Leopard and Snow Leopard... but cannot update mine without major overhaul of the contents of my iMac.

3. I have installed the same font on my PC and simply can't get them to match, so I cannot even work on my Win7 machine...

BTW.. just to lend some urgency to these issues....

Though they may seem "cosmetic", try publishing a set of drawings while two people are working on it and these issues exist.... It's a nightmare trying to check and recheck all the text blocks for printability.

And, it really means that only ONE person can work on texts AND THAT person has to do the publishing....

Frustrating....

So, as I read the article.. I can either get both systems matching to relieve the problem (not really possible directly for me as hard drive is at capacity)...

Or convert to OPEN TYPE TRUETYPE font...

So a couple of questions that I will seek answers to over the next week or so...

1. is there a utility to convert regular TrueType to OPEN Type?

2. Can I set up the FONT CONVERSION the article speaks of (automatically, I mean.. Obviously I can go and change each of the 1000+ text boxes and labels to the newly created font)...

3. Will ArchiCAD recognize this font change... Typically you get the [BAD FONT] listing in the text attributes when a font is deleted from the system (or disabled)...

Like there aren't already enough challenges to creating a successful architectural project these days..... Gotta love technology..

To bring up the subject...

In AC16 TW I have noticed improvement in the time to open and send/receive, but on the other hand there are some issues when working with meshes that have a lot of SEOs. Even if the file is not very large (260MB) and works pretty smoothly as solo PLN, when shared it takes significantly more time to generate a section/elevation or 3d view.

Also there seems to be some problem with splines in TW. Every time a users creates splines gets a message of "invalid elements" when he sends and every time he opens his local copy...
