3D trees

Hi,
i'm trying to get/create a realistic 3D tree for putting into a movie made in version8.1
I know that in v6.5 there was a tree bitmap in the object library that would give you a tree that rotated around to appear 3D in every camera angle, but it does not seem to exist in the 8.1 object library.
Can anyone tell me how to go about it, although i have no idea about editing 3D scripts.

cheers

It is still there - with options to choose images of different trees. The problem in 8.1 is that the bitmap trees cast rectangular shadows - no masking happens. In 6.5, the shadows were masked.

Is there a library with trees that have the outline masking instead of the rectangular masking?
Is it easy to create trees with outline masking for ArchiCAD? I have made them in formZ (with help from PhotoShop) but haven't tried to tackle them in ArchiCAD.
Thanks,

ArchiTerra library.

I am sounding more and more like Cigraph ad board, sorry can't help it!

Try ArchiFacade. If you already have the outlines and the bitmaps, it should be fairly simple.

Check www.b-prisma.de - they have some very nice photorealistic trees, that can turn towards they camera and cast realistic shadows. And the price is reasonable, 81 euro for all that photoshop-work...

The Onyx Tree product is not recommended for ArchiCAD users because it creates excess polygons that bog the renderer down.

An excellent compromise is the Hoshino tree that can be see in the midground of this image
