3DS / Vray render

This is done by a guy in my office.

It's completley modelled in Archicad, materials applied and lighting done in 3DS, rendered in VRAY.

Haven't seen many people post stuff done in 3DS max + Vray, so here you go.

Let him try it to render with LW, and with realistic sun.
I think, it must look more realistic with LW.
I will thank you, if you show this also with LW-Version.

I'm going to give it a go in Lightworks when I get a chance, will post it when I do.

By the way, any one know how to make a shag pile rug like that in Lightworks?

Beautiful image Tom - I'd be interested to see the Lightworks version of this just because I dont think it'll even come close. Ditto on the rug - I get a headache just thinking about how I'd render that in LW.

hi there!

i like the combination of archicad for architectural work plus 3dsmax/vray for rendering! a lot of my projects are done that way... good to see other people do their stuff that way! btw, i don´t think that you can achive a look like the one shown on tom norman´s picture with LW, or can you?

take a look at the portfolio-link on my homepage below if you are interested! comments welcome!!

Hey Tom

Is it possible for u to upload the carpet object?

Hi,
The carpet is just a carpet from Archicad (or a slab, not sure) that's had some 3DSmax texturing done to it. I think. As I said, I didn't create this image, and unfortunatley the guy who did has gone on holiday for 2 weeks, so I can't ask him. I'll check when he gets back though.

I don't think that is an carpet object.

I guess is some sort of Vray displacement technique....

Work mate back from holiday now.

As I thought, the carpet was just a slab in Archicad with some displacement added in VRAY.

It's funny how the first thing anybody comments on in this picture (and other similar vray pictures he's done) is the carpet.
