ArchiCAD 29 Standard Renderer not rendering in background

The basic renderer does not render in the background. If I have another application in front, the renderer stops with no notice. Also, I cannot work in the ArchiCAD application while the renderer is rendering.

Is this specific to the Basic Renderer or does CineRender not render in the background either?
